New Layout

ooooo, aaaahhhh.

I liked Marilyn, really I did. I'd also sworn to always make my own templates, even if they didn't look as good.

But the new blogger ones are so pretty.

Although I didn't mention it in my last post, I did change my stats to show I was back up to 94kg. Blah.

I think the trick was to get back in 'the Zone'. Everybody gets there at some point, the moment when they're going strong, losing the weight, feeling great about it and ignoring the cravings. It's the high of eating plan cycle. My problem was that once my loss got to a pretty steady rate of 1 to 2 pounds a week, I started getting complacent. It was ok to eat that chocolate as long as my calories matched up at the end of that day, and while that's true every once in a while, it becomes a regular thing. It was ok not to log my food into fitday today, it's ok to have slightly higher calories today, I'll make it up (and then never would).

I'm back to the strict routine with myself again, avoiding temptation places like the computer room (with the vending machines) rather than telling myself I can withstand the temptation. My house is usually a treat free environment anyway, but just being that little bit more diligent in the supermarket. It's a little boring, it's a little more time consuming.

It's worth it.

Down to 93kg this morning.

I've noticed that when I'm not eating too well, I avoid my blog. It's kind of like when I was in sixth form and hadn't done the homework, avoidance is the key. Don't step on the scale, don't make eye contact.

Hmm.. the vending machines have begun to control me. I have had an excuse, I've been working on my essay, nothing but me, the computer room, and the vending machine.

But you know what? That's bullshit. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES. The vending machine didn't hold a gun to my head and say "feed me your change". I chose to do it, and continued to for the last week. Then on Friday the Swedish population welcomed in the Spring. With booze. I drank two-thirds of a bottle of apple sours (for those of you unfamiliar, it's supposed to be taken in shot form). It's really rare that I drink, this is the first time I have since I came to Sweden last year, but let me tell you, when I do? I don't do it my half measures (sic - little alchie joke there).

So, kind of blew the immediate challenge thingy. Whoops. Sorry guys.

On the bright side, on plan for the last two days, and I've started planning out counter-strategies. I'm doing my work by hand in my room until I've got the 10 pages I have left to write done, then just going to the comp room to type it. Also managed to come back from the supermarket with no chocolate this week, which I think will be a lot more useful then the last two trips. I may have screwed the last 7 days, but I was on plan before that, and can stay on plan until my birthday as I intended to.

Yay me?

So I thought I'd try this Immediate Challenge. 'Cause, y'know, all the cool kids are doing it.

There's one slight modification in my case though; I'm going to try and keep on it until my birthday on May 18th. I've been finding this weight-loss gig more difficult of late, so I could go with the kick start.

Today is day 8 of good eating. I have stickers.

I am sooooo ready.

Yes Kristen, still on track ;).

I will stay on plan until my birthday, I will will will.

Also; toying with the idea of not weighing myself unti then, but don't know if my willpower is strong enough to keep me off the scale.
